JOB PURPOSE:
The Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in leading the strategic vision and operational management of all information technology functions within the Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICT Authority). The Deputy CIO is responsible for assisting the CIO in formulating and executing ICT strategies aligned with the Government of Jamaica’s overall ICT objectives and digital agenda.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a strategic advisor to the Chief Information Officer on all IT-related matters.
- Collaborates with the Chief Information Officer to develop and execute the strategic vision for ICT initiatives within the Public Sector.
- Leads the design and implementation of robust ICT programmes and projects that align with societal needs, GoJ needs and organizational goals.
- Provides leadership and guidance to the ICT team in the planning, deployment, and maintenance of ICT systems and infrastructure.
- Drives the adoption of emerging technologies and digital solutions to modernize service delivery to the Jamaican public and enhance their experience.
- Develops and implements cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data, systems, and networks from potential threats and breaches.
- Leads the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted operation of critical ICT services.
- Drives digital inclusion and accessibility initiatives to ensure equitable access to ICT services for all citizens of Jamaica.
- Leads the implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies to streamline ICT operations and enhance agility.
- Conducts risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive ICT roadmap and strategy to guide long-term planning and investment decisions.
- Leads the implementation of cloud computing solutions, data analytics tools, and artificial intelligence technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Leads the implementation of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL, to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or Business Administration from a recognized institution.
- Eleven (11) years’ progressive experience in Information Technology, with at least five (5) years in a leadership or management role.

The salary is J$10.37 million per annum plus any current allowances attached to this position.
