Under the supervision of the Department Head – Technical Services, the Data Centre Operations Manager provides leadership and strategic direction to the unit ensuring effective management of the operations of the Data Centre.  The incumbent is responsible for the strategic management of the 24/7 mission critical Data Centre operations within the company’s Computer Suites, all data centre services which support the company’s operations and which require a high degree of redundancy and reliability to ensure that the company can meet its delivery obligations to its internal and external clients, the security and integrity of all system backups to facilitate data recovery where necessary.




  • Manages the overall operations of the Data Centre Operations Unit.
  • Participates in the departmental strategic planning process to achieve business goals by prioritizing initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
  • Assesses the performance and overall effectiveness of the unit against the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with the department head in the development of the department’s human resource plans.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to direct reports through effective planning, delegation, communication, mentoring and coaching.




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Five (5) years technical experience; three (3) years technical management experience or post-graduate degree in related discipline preferred.
  • Three (3) years management experience in a similar or related capacity.
  • Proven hands-on experience in VMWare and Veeam.
  • Budgeting / Planning experience.
  • Project Management experience.

The salary scale ranges from J$5.59 million – J$7.52 million per annum plus any current allowance attached to this position.
