JOB PURPOSE: The Security OffiCer and Master User (SOMU) will be responsible to set, configure and operate the various Government of Jamaica (GoJ) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) in keeping with their approved applicable Certificate Policy (CP) and Certificate Practice statement (CPS).  The SOMU is responsible for extending the trust infrastructure through the implementation of cross-certification, Certificate Authority (CA) sub-ordination, and certificate revocation information publication.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operates the CAs in accordance with the applicable Certificate Policy (CP) and Certification Practice Statement (CPS).
  • Set and maintain the security policy for the CAs.
  • Certificate management of subordinate CA Certificates, cross certificates, and PKI server certificates.
  • Maintains PKI services.
  • Upgrades and deploys PKI to all environments.
  • Acts as key custodian for the PKI infrastructure.
  • Performs User Management of other SOMU and subscribers.
  • Administers various PKI Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directories.
  • Executes revocation and suspension requests received from Operational Authority (OA).
  • Configures and oversees backup, re-encryption and restoration, inclusive of testing of the CA databases and supporting systems.
  • Trains team members and other key stakeholders.
  • Works with clients to understand requirements and problem-sets and design solutions to address Data Security needs.
  • Performs procurement activities.
  REQUIREMENTS:
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Five (5) years professional work experience in a related field such as Public Key Infrastructure, infrastructure IT (Systems Administration, Network Administration Window/Linux OS, Network Administration, Active Directory and/or Virtualization).
  • Information Security certification such as CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with security management tools and digital certificate management processes.
