The Bank Reconciliation System (BRS) was developed in the fiscal period 2001/2002. The system provides a simple, stable and consistent bank account reconciliation system for Jamaica Government agencies – using an Application Service Provider (ASP) model.
Major features of the system include:
- Reduced manual entries through electronic upload of cheques drawn against accounts and bank account/statement entries.
- Central hosting and support of the software and infrastructure, thereby reducing the capital outlays and overhead costs which would otherwise be borne by each site.
- Reduced transaction cost to respective ministries
- Facilitate timely preparation of Bank reconciliation and the generation of reports for all bank accounts.
